Find a Mirror Book - Stage 1
Hello, Visitor!
This quest is all about finding something inspired by YOU! Also, while the Find a Translated Work quest encourages exploration of a “window” book that might offer a perspective that is different from your own, this quest challenges you to find a “mirror” book that reflects an experience or aspect of yourself.
What does this mean? Here are ways you might search for a “mirror” book:
- How do you define your identity? Are there parts that mean a lot to you? Search for books that are written by someone who shares this part of your identity and/or features characters that share this part.
- Have you or your family lived somewhere else? Or, is there a place you’ve visited and have a connection to? Search for books that take place there to read.
- Are you a fan of something or is there someone that you look up? Read a book related to your passion, hobby, or interests.
- If these questions don’t inspire you, you can always try out these more random approaches for fun:
- read a book that starts with the same letter as your name
- read a book published the same year you were born
- read a book with an author or character who shares your name
To complete this quest, respond to the prompts below and then click Complete. And, if you keep a To-Be-Read (TBR) list on Goodreads, on paper, etc. – consider adding what you found!
What it is the book title and author of the mirror read that you found?
What is your personal connection to the book? How is it a mirror read?
Nobody else can be an exact mirror. What are ways that the book may differ from your life experience?
